FREE Tiny House Jamboree 2015 !!
We are EXTREMELY excited to share the news of the first Tiny House Jamboree 2015!! It is being held Aug. 7-9, 2015 in our beloved Colorado Springs. The best part…it’s FREE to participants! We will be there as well as loads of other tiny house leaders. There will be several tiny houses to tour through (including the hOMe model), presentations, tiny house living products, food, music and all around fun. You need to sign up for it to get your free ticket: www.tinyhousejamboree.com #tinyhousejamboree We will post more information and all the details soon.
This looks like so much fun. Can’t attend but would like to come to something like this someday. Is the hOMe model a version from Eco Cabins? Would love to have been able to see that one as well as the others. Work, and time off from work, gets in the way… just the very thing people get into a small/tiny house to get away from!
Too bad you can’t attend this one Bob. There will be others! The hOMe model is Andrew and mine’s but we have teamed up with EcoCabins who will be building it for those that don’t want to build it themselves. 🙂
Free to participants…what about spectators? What is the cost?
It’s free to everyone!
Are dogs allowed at this event?
I don’t think so Amy. It’s being held at the Air Force Academy this year and my guess is that they don’t allow dogs at the venue.
HOORAY FOR COLORADO!!! THIS IS MORE THAN GREAT. WE NEED TINY HOME COMMUNITIES, ESPECIALLY IN THIS ECONOMY. BUILDERS SHOULD ALWAYS REMEMBER, THAT THEY ARE GIFTS TO HUMANITY AND THAT HOMELESS PEOPLE NEED THEM; AND IN THIS RESPECT THEY ARE PERFORMING GOD’S WORK.
I am a single mother of four kids, I have been separated from my children due to lack of proper housing. I am desparate to find a way to bring them home, and to have an affordable home to bring them to. But I live in jacksonville, Florida. I have tried to get low income housing, but they said having custody of my children is a requirement. I’m going in circles with them, trying to explain that I can’t have custody until I have a place to bring them! :'( I was just wondering, if you knew anyone in my area that would possibly be able to help with this situation, or perhaps knows someone who could? I would be eternally grateful for any thoughts on this matter!
Habitat for Humanity? I’m sure that a Tiny House would not meet the “Government Guidelines” for a family of 5.
Alice i am willing to explore this with you.I dealt with child services for 20 years.i now do cabins to be able to help transitional moms.I would love to talk. Please email me with your state ,location, and ask your case worker if there is a sq footage requirement.Usually it is just that it be sanitary and stable.MY heart goes out to you.Lets see what we can brain storm here!
Blessings!

What a predicament Alice! I’m so sorry but I don’t know of anything these. Anyone else have any ideas? Feel free to comment in the thread below
Hi Gabriella! Shannon and I bought your hOMe plans and will be in attendance in August! We are looking forward to seeing you and Andrew. It’s going to be a blast.
We love living in Colorado and I think more and more people will support the Tiny House Movement! Great people, great times, and wonderful tiny communities for everyone! See you there.
Can’t wait Tammy!! 🙂
WOW- My husband and I have a huge dream of building tiny, and have been dying to get a tour of tiny homes (have never actually seen one in person) and hear all about the movement that we want to join. We also live just north of Colorado Springs- so we will most definitely be there! Can’t wait to hear all the details!
I’m really interested in viewing your tiny house hOMe and purchasing plans!
Are you still selling the plans now you have teamed up with a builder? I ask this because I want the satisfaction of knowing I built my home.
P.S. – I’ll see you at the Tiny House Jamboree, I’m coming in from Georgia!
So great you are coming to the Jamboree!! Yes, for sure we are still business as usual here at tinyhousebuild.com and all of our products continue to be available. 🙂
My daughter and I as well, Sean. We fly out tomorrow morning. I am so excited!!! Fly safe.
My husband and I are planning to attend the jamboree. We live in the area and can’t believe the size of the houses! We just want enough space to be happy and go hiking and line dancing. We are already in the process of downsizing from a townhome to a tiny apartment to save up for our tiny house. However, we are concerned about where we could put a tiny house in the Colorado Springs area. Aren’t there a lot of building regulations in the area?
Great you will guys will be joining us! Here is an interesting article about tiny houses and Colorado Springs that just came out: http://gazette.com/side-streets-tiny-house-enthusiasts-will-be-living-large-in-colorado-springs/article/1545861
Where can I buy plans at?
Leslie, you can find plans on this page: https://tinyhousebuild.com/home-plans/
Hello I am building a tiny little house and would like to know if I can bring it to the jamboree to show. I plan to start selling them in the future. I have it almost finished. Your help is appreciated.
Thanks for your interest David! I believe there is a sign up option on their website for you to present you question. If you don’t hear from anyone let me know and I will forward your info to them 🙂
I recently watched a documentary on building tiny and have been fascinated ever sense. I will definitely be attending. I am currently on the path to saving so I can build my own tiny home in the near future. So excited for the tours!
That’s great Chelsea!!
Hey Gabriella what kind of place do you need to host the event cause I may be able to find you someone who will host the event.
Greetings, I m an RN and fascinated with tiny home living.
Would any other females like to share housing or a hotel room near the Jamboree to decrease our costs?
Also, is there an address for the Jamboree so we can look for nearby housing?
Thanks!
Jan
Please send me more info about the Tiny House Jamboree in Colorado. I am very interested in attending and maybe even presenting a workshop or participating more actively. I am in Kansas City, Mo area so am not far away and the Tiny House Movement is going strong (from my perspective) here and growing every day.
Thank You!

Hi Dave! If you go to http://www.tinyhousejamboree.com you will find the sign up information on there. In terms of presenting, I believe that all of the speaker slots are already full. There is space for vendors though if that is what you are interested in. 🙂
Hi,
I have been following the Tiny movement for about 5 years now. I am a single great grandma, very healthy and can’t help wondering if other’s my age (72) are actually living tiny. Over the years I have seen the problem of the loft solved either by a first floor bedroom and/or a more easily navigated stairway.
I live in Michigan, 50 miles north of Detroit. Do you know of any others in my area who are either following the movement and/or actually living tiny.
I sure would appreciate any information you could furnish. Maybe I can team up with others & we can come to the Jamboree together.
Keep up the fantastic work, you are the hope of the future for many.
Kind regards,
Ginny

Fwd: Thank you…
I’m looking to build a “TINY!” house, which will be the first TINY home here in the metro area… It is only $20,000 to build one, and it is a tax write off, as well as a HUGE need in Colorado. I would allow all pictures, and videos of the process, from breaking ground, to completion. I have a section 8 voucher, and can’t find a place that will take it, and that’s why people are HOMELESS in Colorado, with housing vouchers, including VETERANS!! I have researched the tiny home process, and it costs average, of $20.000…
PLEASE contact me if you can assist in starting a place to call home, that will be a HUGE money maker for people who can help get this going and start a STOP to homelessness. I have multiple sclerosis, and I don’t need a big place, just something to live in until the last breath I take.

You cannot have Tiny homes in Colorado due to zoning or building codes so I`m not sure what the purpose of this is. If I am incorrect please educate me as I am interested in living in a mobile Villa myself!
Haven’t heard an update lately but Walsenburg, CO is/was considering changing city code to allow a tiny house alone on a city lot to be lived in full time. Check the local codes in different areas since they are not all the same all over. There is a blog post on this site about it. May have to page back a few pages to get to it. Click on Blog at the top of this page and then go back a page or two to find it. Not sure what a mobile villa is, but sounds different than a tiny house (which may or may not be on wheels but is not intended to be very mobile).
Hi Scott! Colorado is actually wanting to make changes to zoning to allow for tiny houses (well, at least several townships). Couple ideas: go to http://www.tinyhousemap.com and look for tiny house people in your area to connect with. Sign up for the free http://www.TinyHouseJamboree.com happening August 7-9 in Colorado Springs. There are going the be thousands of people there and tons of press. Colorado is a great place to be for tiny houses! Tumbleweed.com has their factory in the Springs as does EcoCabins.com. Keep the faith! 🙂
Anything like this on the east coast?
Hi Lynne! There is a “mini-Jam” in Dayton, OH coming right up. If you do a search online it should yield results of timing 🙂
Gabriella, are there any more events being held in the Dayton area soon?
I’m not sure Austin! I doubt it but perhaps next year they will do another mini Jam there again? Have you joined the Facebook Tiny House People group? That is a great place for those kinds of questions bc there are so many people in there.
I’m living out of a Motel 6 after my last housing situation turned upside down. I can’t afford to stay here, other friends can’t take me, so many so aartments have wait lists, aren’t available til August or are $300-700 more than I can afford, and I’m really tempted to call mobile home parks around the area and asking if I can move a portable cabin on a lot!
Otherwise I’m moving to a campground. I’d rather a tiny home!
Thanks for writing! Living at a Motel 6 adds up really quickly!! I would rather live in a campground too! Not sure where you live climate wise, but would it be possible to live out of a large tent? Just met a couple that is doing so down in Marin, CA and it’s going really well as a long term living solution for them. So much so that the woman got a job at the campground and is helping with managing the campers.
Where is this festival being held?
Just clicked on the poster in the article and you go to a web page with more details about it. It is being held at The Western Museum of Mining and Industry.
I just found out about the Jamboree yesterday. I am off on Saturday, August 8 and really want to attend. I signed up for email but was unable to preregister. Can I still get in to see the houses? My kids are buying land and my plan is to sell my condo in Denver and pay cash for a tiny house.
Hope you were able to get in Karen!
